Living with Less Stress and Anxiety, Saturday 29th February 2020

10am – 1pm, Wellness Centre, 9 George Street Meuse, Dumfries, DG1 1HH

Cost: £25 (or £20 concessions)

This workshop will focus on what happens in the body when we experience small or bigger stress blips/occasions, and the implications for wellbeing when we experience ongoing stress and anxiety. You will learn beneficial yoga movements, breathing practices and relaxation techniques which can help you understand and manage your stress and anxiety. Each participant will receive a handout with a summary of the theory, exercises and further useful resources. Help yourself to feel better.

Who should attend?

The workshop is ideal for anyone who is looking for ways to help manage their stress and anxiety and reduce the impact it has on their body and lives. You should have enough mobility to be able to sit (on a chair or on a yoga mat with blocks) and undertake gentle yoga movements from a range of lying, sitting and standing positions. There will be periods of discussion, movement, guided meditation and relaxation. There will also be a short break with refreshments provided.

What to bring: something for taking notes (pen & paper or mobile device); comfy warm layers of clothes; water bottle; a blanket if you want for the relaxation sessions; and anything you specifically need to be comfy.

Booking essential – this will be a small group with limited spaces. Book directly with me using this form. I will confirm your place on receipt of the form. Payment due on the day if paying by cash or cheque, or the day before if paying by bank transfer.

Location: The Wellness Centre is just off the main street near the Burns Statue, alongside Greyfriars Church. The mews lane can be access from Academy Street /Church Crescent or from George Street. Pedestrian access only.
